Simple example of chloropleth maps with Ctools

Hi - I've looked at the ctools demos but I haven't found a simple demonstration of how to do a chloropleth map - e.g. take a dataset like:
Province name; value

and map it to a gradient, coloring in the relevant shapes in a province map.

Does someone have an example they can point me to of how to do this simply with ctools?
