WHERE versus INNER JOIN; Relationship cardinality(N:N etc..), DISTINCT option

• I defined a relationship between 2 business tables in a view with INNER JOIN. I observed that the relationship type gets set to N:N automatically (Please comment where the cardinality of the relationship is used).

When viewing the generated SQL in PME, I observe that instead of an INNER JOIN in the generated SQL, an equally functional WHERE clause is generated. I'd like to understand why the the relationship metadata did not get used when creating the SQL query - to understand what the expected behavior will be when dealing with more complex queries
