Change empty string in datatables to "0"

Hi all,

I got the following problem: I have a dashboard with table components on it. They get their data from a sql query. Now, some of the data returned from the sql query contains NULL values. As I already read on the internet, datatables automatically converts NULL values to empty string values. This is where my problem is.

Since my relevant column contains numbers, I want the table to display the value "0" instead of an empty string.

Does anyone know how I can check if a column field contains a null value and change it to a certain other value??
