Cross tab report alternate color

i am facing a problem about alternate color in cross tab report. I know how to impose alternate color in normar report but facing problem in cross tab report.

i have a 4filed name state which basically maintaining group , another is city which is place in row position (ROw axis), attribute which is palce in column position in cross tab report and lastly value field which is place in data cell position .

so my output in report look like this

State A1

city attribute 1 attribute 2

C1 5 3
C3 5 3


here using row band i am able to alternate color for

attribute 1 attribute 2

5 3
5 3

but i need city also imposing the alternate color ... is any problem in cross tab report or i am missing something
