maximum open cursors exceeded

I am getting the below error during the Execute SQL Statements step. Our number of open cursors is set to 300 and the DBA is reluctant to increase this. Is there a way I can manage the open cursors?

ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-01000: maximum open cursors exceeded
