Parameters With PDi Data Source

Warning: newcomer who's very frustrated with Pentaho on many fronts. Hoping someone here can alleviate some of that frustration.

So I'm trying to create a report based off a PDI Transformation data source. The Transformation has parameters that work. I've creted parameters in the report which match the name and type of the parameters in the PDI Transformation. However, they don't seem to be getting passed.

Has anyone tried this? Is there some magic spell I need to cast to get this to work?
