Pentaho Reporting Output

Hi,

I have an secnariao where I am generating reports designed in PRD using penthao Reporting out put.

My problem in when I am feeding a PRPT which is not containing any parameters works fine but when it I am trying to feed a report which is having parameter it start giving me error [jcc][t4][2013][11249][3.63.75] Connection authorization failure occurred. Reason: User ID or Password invalid. ERRORCODE=-4214, SQLSTATE=28000. But same report when I try to run in PRD it works fine, more over I am able to resolve this issue in windows environment I got an idea in this link http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docvie...id=swg21386186.

But for Mac OS x I am not getting those options which are described in above link.
and also If any one is having Idea how PDI internally takes the parameters which defines in PRPT. Is command line something to do with that?

I am struggling with this problem from so many days but not getting any clue why this is happening with Mac but not in windows?
I am using DB2 as a database and PDI 4.3 also I have tested it in higher and minor versions also but no success.

Show/Hide IFrame as per roles of the users

I have a requirement to show/hide dashboard as per roles of a users for that i have some some roles like SalesPerson,VP

I have created a javascript to get the roles with "dashboard.context.roles"

e.g:- i have a,b,c dashboard which are basically placed as iframe

Now i want to show dashboard a,c to Salesperson and a,b to VP

this is script which i am using

var t=Dashboard.context.roles
Which will give me roles of a person
if(t == 'SalesPerson)
{
$('#b').hide();
}
else if(t == 'VP)
{
$('#c').hide();
}
else
{
alert("e")
}

my script is something like that but i am not able to get dashboard as per my requirement.
Any help would be appreciated

Loading xml into database

Hi,
I am trying to load an xml into a database table.My use case is like this

1. Loaded a flat file to table XYZ.
2. Will receive new updates thru JMS message mainly as XML. Need to store this xml as an update into the table XYZ from step 1.

I tried passing the xml received from a JMS client to a transformation which accepts input variables and able to get the data from the xml using Get Data from XML step in the transformation.

But after that I am not sure how to insert/update the xml data into database table.

Is it just a matter of having a table output and doing the mapping between the xml data to database fields ?

Passing values to query from HTML controls in report designer

Hi ,

I have added a label and made it as an input box HTML control (by adding the HTML definition in the appendheader section). For very user input in the text box, I need to pass the value in texTbox to query and load the report.

- Is it possible to pass the value in a HTML texTbox control to the query like a parameter ?
- If we add a HTML List control in the PRD , is it possible to load it by querying database


Please help me by giving some hints

Carte - Have a user execute a transformation though browser

Hello.

I have never dealt with Carte before and haven't found a lot of information therefore I'm not sure I can do what I'm looking for with it. So here's my scenario.

I have a transformation that creates a file based on two parameters (Start/End date). I would like some users to be able to execute that transformation by themselves whenever they want. So I was wondering if I could use Carte to do so by giving my users a URL to use and specify their parameters and the file will be generated on the network as per their requirements.

Is it something possible or there's really something I didn't understand properly in the functionnality of Carte?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

oracle bulk loader setting

Hi all

I used the orabulkloader to load file to oracle . success.
but when i setting the control file to transformation directory using ${Internal.Transformation.Filename.Directory}/ctl_test.ctl
failed .
Load office info to db.0 - ERROR (version 4.4.0 from 2014/03/09 13:59:11.080) : The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect

I found the reason is ${Internal.Transformation.Filename.Directory} is file:///c:/temp/ctl_test.ctl

when using the value create file. failed .

how to void it.

JMS consumer usage in Pentaho

HI All,

I am new to Pentaho and in my project we are planing to use the jms consumer for reading data from queue and updating into target table.

Currently we are using Pentaho Stable (pdi-ce-4.4.0-stable) version, but i am not able to found the JMS consumer transformation. Please suggest steps for using the JMS consumer transformation and in which version it is available and how to use that transformation.

Creating semi-additive measure on parent-child hierarchy

Hello there,

I have a parent-child hierarchy that represents the content of a training program (program -> chapter -> module -> submodule).

For each registered user, I have another parent-child structure that mirrors the training's parent-child hierarchy and keeps track of which content has been completed. (say, a user_session record has a foreign key to a training_content record and they all have parent with the same foreign key)

Now, I want to be able to view my hierarchy with the number of users having completed each content.
Obviously it should not roll up, i.e. when a submodule is complete, it should not roll up to its owning module and so on.

I'm a newbie to MDX, and I cannot get that measure formula right.
I've tried the plain Calculated Member: IIF([Beneficiary Completion].[Completion].CurrentMember.Value=TRUE,1,0) but this only returns 1 or 0 (yet does not roll up).
I've tried COUNT(FILTER(...)) and countless alternatives but cannot get the proper number show AND not roll up.

Anyone has a clue as to how I can achieve this ?

Table output Step, Ignore Insert Errors

Hello,

I use Table output Step with MySQL.

Rows with identical primary key:
Just the first one has to be loaded. (I do not need the other...)

But I get Interruption: "....Duplicate entry....for key"
I hope the solution is to activate "Ignore insert errors". But this is in my case disabled?

How can I get the Ignore insert errors Option enabled in order to activate it? Or is there other solution for my problem?

I am using Pentaho Report Designer 5.0.1 - Stable. I am trying to display image from database blob field using sql and report designer image-field. But, the image content is not displayed. Can anyone please help.

Hi ALL,

I want to get the .bad files count in special folder .

for example the count is 0, 1, n . I use the get file names step , but when no matched file, the next count step dont execute .

How i can do it.

I am new to Pentaho. I am using pentaho 5.0.1 and i have worked with few charts available in the cde dashboard. Now i want to work with a dial chart component and i am not being able to do so. Can any one please guide me for creating a dial chart in pentaho 5.0.1?

parsing an xls to get max(value) of a column

Hi,

I just want to know is there any way by which I can get maximum value of a column after parsing an xls file without inserting the values in a database table??

I tried the calculator step, but there is no such as get_max_value function...Any sugession???

Work on files seperately with MS excel input

Hi,

I have some excel files that I want to run a certain tranfsormation on each of them.
I use MS Excel Input step to load the files.

My problem is that the MS excel input takes the content of all the files together and performs the transformation on it, while I want the transformation to be executed on each of the excel inputs seperately.

I tried to load the files from previous step/transformation, they come one by one by but the MS excel input always unites their content.

Any idea?

Dial chart component is not working in Pentaho 5.1 CDE

Hi All,

I am using CDE Dial chart component but while previewing, dial chart does not show, instead just 'Details' text with magnifier renders. Please see attached screen capture:

The query I am using returns:

AttRate
0.239

Could someone please suggest which properties should be used for the component (if possible pls provide step by step steps).
