When using IMAP-protocol, I cannot get a connection to the mail server. Switching to POP, it works. With version 4.4.0 it worked properly. Have I missed something?

Checkpoint Problems and Information
Hi to all,
I try to use the checkpoint features but it doesn't work.
I follow the steps explained in http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/EAI/...restartability :
when the job start, the log_checkpoint table is correctly updated and if I try to restart manually the job, it begin from the checkpoint not from the start;
but this only with manually restart not automatically (I have setup max number of retry and period).
Have I to restart always manually or is it possible to get the job start automatically?
This checkpoint feature is possible only using the enterprise repository or even with database repository?

Migration PDI from Community Edition to Enterprise
Hi to all,
is it possible to migrate PDI from Community Edition to the Enterprise one?
We have the Community Edition (4.4) with the database repository and want to use the checkpoint feature, so we have to migrate at the enterprise Edition 5.0.
We have try to export/import the repository via xml file but when importing in the enterprise we have the error "format not recognized as kettle file type".
Could you please help us?

How to run the same transformation several times in a loop?
I am new to Pentaho I have a few transformations that are receiving the month and the year as parameters and calculate some values for that month.I would like to run it for several of months, so I was thinking to create a job that gets the month & year to start with and the month and year to end with and then run the transformation for each month in that range.What is the recommended way to do that?Thanks, Avi

SFDC Input component getFields - Use parameters for generic transformation
Hi Everyone
I am trying to create a generic transform so that I can pass parameters including SOQL for different tables and get the data and write to text file. But even when I have parametrized it the getfields option needs to be manually clicked for populating the fields when the query changes, which defeats the purpose. Is there a way to make the SFDC input generic for different tables in sfdc and use same transform for all tables by calling it with different parameters?
Any help is appreciated.

spoon.sh error on Pentaho 5 startup
Hi,
I get this fatal error when trying to start spoon.sh on my CentOS machine and java version "1.6.0_32":
Someone else encountered similar problem with former version of Pentaho and solved it with removing welcome screen (http://forums.pentaho.com/archive/in...p/t-93893.html)- but this technique doesn't work with Pentaho 5 (in a way that I don't know how/can't remove welcome screen).
Please help :)

Pentaho User Console
I am having issues trying to connect to the SQL server (which is a VM in HyperV). I go into the Pentaho User Console and in trying to create a new connection, I keep running into an error.
The error I am seeing is:

user defined lib other than libext or lib from spoon.sh
Hi All,
I am trying to execute main class written into jar file.
Due to some limitations I can't put my jars into libext or lib.
I tried to modify spoon.sh for CLASSPATH. But that is not working as for my class I am getting error [ if I put it into libext it works]
I tried to modify lancher.properties too but didn't help.
Any clue why this is not working with spoon.sh ?

SVM with Leave-One-Out

Pentaho biserver-ce 5 RepositorySynchronizer plugin issue!
Hi All,
I have installed the Pentaho BI-Server CE 5. I have also created new dashboard in it using MDX query. As with CE 5 all the data is stored into JCR and not on file system (as it was with 4.5 etc.) I try installing the plugin RepositorySynchronizer from marketplace. After installation I restart tomcat (pentaho server) and tried to open RepositorySynchronizer plugin, but it gives error like "Check the paths of JCR and File System in prs.xml" which i solved using this: http://redmine.webdetails.org/issues/2961 discussion. So now my prs.xml looks like

<location path="E:/Suraj/Pentaho/biserver-ce/pentaho-solutions/system/../repositorySynchronizer" name="File System"/>

Error : no member type in USER DEFINED JAVA CLASS STEP.
Previous step for this User defined java expression was a get system info step and at end it was a DUMMY step.
When I tried to execute this transformation , I get this error.

VirtualCube in Database JOIN
Setup
I have the following Virtual Cube. The individual cubes work fine.
The joining parameters (common columns) are
customer_id and portfolio_id.
Now when I try to select
Rows: Campaign
Columns: Cost, Revenue
It only displays Campaign and Cost. In the debug of mondian_sql, I see this...
Problem:
Mondrian doesn't join the customer_id and portfolio_id from the 2 cubes. What should I do to expect a query something like this ...

CTools Stable version available - 14.03.11
New CTools Releases - 14.03.11
We're finally ready to announce the release of a new stable set of the ctools. It's the first one after the release of pentaho 5.0.
It took us lots of time to get to a stable version; There has been a huge refactor to allow the new 5.0 plugin structure and still be able to run on 4.8.
Install it
Get it from the Marketplace
This time we decided that we won't have independent installers for the ctools; The preferred way to install it is from the Pentaho Marketplace. If you don't have it on your 5.0 installation, get it from download the Marketplace from CI and unzip into your pentaho system folder.
You should now see a new branch with the stable version of the Ctools.

Important note: Make sure all the Ctools component (CDF, CDA, CGG, CDE) are on the same branch. For Pentaho 5.0 EE you may need to uninstall CDF v5.0.x and install it again

Since a while back, ctools installer now works both on 4.x and 5.0, so you can use it also this installation method.
Enterprise Support
There's something that we've been working on internally at Pentaho and we're going to announce soon. Respecting the Project Maturity Classification, we're going to roll out official support for the Ctools for EE customers through the regular support channel.
That will include, to start, full level 4 support for the CDF version that comes bundled with Pentaho 5.0.x and 4.8.x, and level 3 support for the entire ctools suite (CDF, CDA, CGG, CDE) for the latest stable version. On this case, 14.03.07.
When rolled out, EE customers will have the ability to fill bugs to the ctools projects. A huge step forward :)

This report was made with the older version of prd 3.6.1.
Is there something i've to configure instead of creating new report and copy all information inside?
