Out Of Memory in simple 8-Step transformation

The "Get Max ID" step retrieves an integer from another database, which is used in the "Read RETS_STAGE1_QUEUE" step.

In this screen shot that step is disabled. The transformation runs Out Of Memory after 50,000 records (1 GB heap).

When the first step is enabled, the transformation runs Out Of Memory in the Read step before processing even a single record.

Looking for ideas how to make this work, without over-complicating it.

mondrian caching api: problem when flushing cache segments

I am trying to flush some segments of the mondrian cache in order to remove stale data. For this I have written a small test application (see attached Java file) which uses mondrian 3.6.3. As a basis for this test application I used the example at http://mondrian.pentaho.com/document...he_control.php.

perhaps a silly question.

Is Pentaho 5.1 CE set of products part of an stable version?

I say that because all the previous versions had the suffix "-stable" in the filename, but not in 5.1

Hello.

I am here again with my silly questions.

I am just wondering what SQL-query style is correct for Pentaho CE 5? I have been using MySQL-based queries and they have been working time for time for now ..
Until today I confronted a problem with my query. The query works on Toad for MySql and I get the result that I wanted. And then I copy-pasted that query to Pentaho SQL-query .. And all I can get is an error to my linechart.

Where is the problem?

I have been noticing that sometimes my queries have not quite been working just copy-pasting, for example had to change ' or " marks to ` ..

Hopefully somebody understood what I was asking.

How can I set variables with values from my database?

Hi everyone!

In my database I have a table who look like this:

I want to create a variable for each one of my values so I can call them latter on my scripts like this :

Scheduled job sometimes does not run

Hi, I'm using Pentaho BA server 5.0.1 CE and I have nightly scheduled Kettle jobs to move data from our production database to a data mart for reporting. Today I was making changes to one job, an incremental ETL that always loads data for the previous day, and I noticed that it didn't trigger for the last two days. Upon examining the data in the reporting database further, I found out that there are two days worth of data missing.
Although the xaction that runs the Kettle job is scheduled to run daily, Scheduler Admin tells me that it was last run two days ago. I checked the logs and the server was up during the night and other scheduled jobs ran OK. There's no error in the log, no anything, because the scheduled xaction simply didn't trigger at all.
There's not much I can do about it now except fix the recent missing data ad-hoc and live with the fact that older data will be lost (as they get periodically deleted from production DB). I guess the blame is partly on me for making the ETL "naive" and don't check what was imported and what wasn't. However, fixing this doesn't really solve the bigger problem - users expect their reporting data to be up-to-date and not three days old when Pentaho randomly decides not to trigger its scheduled jobs. Any ideas will be appreciated!

cde components using dojo gauge

i'm tryng to implement a cde component using a dojo gauge in pentaho ce 5.1.
dojo 1.9 is already in pentaho 5.1 and i know that the pentaho 5.1 use requirejs to dinamically load javascript library .
If i try to use dojo require to load the gauge module i get an error .
So i tried to use reuquirejs .
I have put a dependency in the component.xml :

the cde component go in error because dojo and dojox are not defined .
where am I doing wrong?

I am using PDI 5.0.1.A with postgresql 9.3.

I have attached a kettle transformation that is under development and testing.

When I run the transformation, I get the java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException error on the Java script step.

Also I have attached the logs to assist you in your research.

SAP-Input connector with custom SAP functions issue

Hello all!

I'm not able to execute custom SAP functions using the SAP-Input connector,
but I have no problemes calling the ones that already comes with SAP.
Is there any trick or something I have to do to be able to call custom
functions with this connector?

The problem seems to be related with the parametres when passing them to the function,
I tried using table parametres as well as normal ones with no luck, and I
also looked carefully to the working built-in functions and copyed them, but
again, the transformation fails when calls this SAP functions.

The parameters are correctly fetched with the "Get fields" button, but I get
the error "FIELD_NOT_FOUND" when I execute it.

The error in the stack-trace is:

Getting files specifically by scanning the file name

I am trying to read in one .csv file from a repository of files that all have the same name except they are differentiated by the date. I want my job to be able to take in the most recent file by scanning in the file names and getting the most recent date in the file name. Is there any way to do this through Pentaho?

Creating JSON Output From Table

I am reading data from an Oracle table and need to create JSON output. I have a structure like this:

This is just the simplest piece of this. Eventually, I will read from multiple tables but now I am just trying to get a simple example to work. I have read the referenced website http://goessner.net/articles/JsonPath/ and did not find it very helpful in terms of defining the fields in the output step. Also, it writes the fields out in any order into the JSON output. Can anyone point me to some examples of creating JSON output from tables or get me started or how to define the items for the above simple example? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
