Browser Based Functionality for Kettle

Currently for data integration jobs and transformation,user uses Kettle client for performing ETL operations using Spoon GUI.

My question is whether there is a browser based functionality available for Kettle where user can design tranformations & do job integration in the browser itself instead of using desktop PDI application?

DI Repository error while opening transformation.

Hi All,

I am using PDI Enterprise Edition 5.0.1. I am getting an error while opening a transformation from DI(Data Integration) Repository. The error message is given below:
Unable to load transformation from path [/public/test/T2.ktr]

Unexpected error reading step information from the repository
For input string: "${SIZE}"

I have tried importing the transformation in Database Repository. In Database Repository it works fine. This error only occurs in DI Repository while opening the transformation.

I have attached the ktrs and the jobs for reference.
There are two ktrs "T1.ktr" and "T2.ktr" and one job "Job1.kjb". I face the error only in "T2.ktr" while opening it from DI Repository.

I have checked this issue in Pentaho forum also. Below is the link from forum:

As per JIRA 3867, it was bug which is resolved.
Please suggest me if I am going wrong in designing ktrs and help me resolve the issue.

Error when unzipping Pentaho Data Integrator Files

Hello,

I'm trying to install Pentaho Data Integrator but when I finish to download from http://sourceforge.net/projects/pent...20Integration/
I get an error "Invalid Zip file". What could be the problem? I'm administrator of my computer and I tried to unzip using Windows Zip Compressor and 7-zip. I have downloaded 3 different versions.

printf - Grouping separator on table component

Hi there,

I want to be able to format a number with a certain grouping (ex: 1000 -> 1.000) on a table component.
I can do it with '%d' option, but now I want to change the grouping separator! Tried to change the locale of my browser but does not seem to be the solution!

Any ideas on how to achive this?

I could on post fetch process the data, and parse the numbers to a formatted string.... but then, I will lose the table order option on these columns as it will order them by strings values!

Error processing component look and feel

Hi again guys,

I want to be able to catch the error of components and present a nice message to the user!
Example, a database connection timeout (database takes a long time to answer) and a chart gives the error processing component message!

Is there any way to achive this?

What should be my connection type and how can i build a report out of this ?

Mondrian generates the wrong SQL (SqlTupleReader) when aggregations is called.

I have a problem when using aggregate tables and querying all members (No Filter) of a dimension level.
I believe the problem have something to do with the definition of the level column and column name (One numeric, the other one a label).
The error message I got is : "PSQLException: ERROR: missing FROM-clause entry for table (Aggregation Table).
The problem disappear when a filter is added into the MDX. Below is the full log:

Hey,

I can change the font size, type, alignment on my bar chart in Pentaho Report Designer 3.9.1 but how do I change the font color? I do not see an option for that. Am I missing something?

Ignore some attributes when performing attribute selection

Hello,
I want to perform an attribute selection (using Relief) on my dataset. I'd like to keep a certain range of attributes, that is not remove them due to attribute selection. How can I do it? I tried to set the range of attributes I want to keep as startSet but i didn't get the desired output. Is there any easy way to do it?

Hi,

Just wondering of there is a component for processing PDF input. I am using PDI 5.1 and I looked on the Marketplace but could not find anything. I have seen comments that there is such a component but i have not been able to find it.

Any pointers on if this is possible?

PME 5.1 CE not implementing security on BA 5.1 CE?

I've published a metadata model that sets a restriction on a field to a certain Role. I've then published a report that was created using Pentaho Report Designer that displays the field. I then logged in to a User that does NOT, according to the Metadata, have permission to see that field. However, when I open the report, the User is still able to see the field that should have been restricted to a Role which the user is not part of. (Note, none of the Roles/Users in question are Admin and do not have free access to all data).

What might be the reason why the security on the field implemented through PME wasn't implemented on the report created using PRD (both having been successfully published on the BA Server)?

Trouble adding a parameter with MongoDB datasource

Getting a blank report after adding a parameter to main query. The parameter is for selecting a URL from a drop down. The main query works fine using a hardcoded URL.


In the main query (LastResultQuery) I'm attempting to match on base_url = to the parameter

If I attempt to get fields, I get an error "Unexpected error retrieving fields from Mongo..."

When I remove the parameter from my main query (LastResultQuery) and hardcode the URL the report works as expected and returns only the data for the selected URL.

Previewing the query for the parameter returns the two URLs I would expect and the parameter shows up correctly on the report.

Hi,

I see there is a Salesforce SOAP API plugin to use within Pentaho Kettle,but is there a place where I can find the Workday API, Schwab API for use in Pentaho Kettle? I'd like to be able to use their standard SOAP APIs to pull data into our systems.
