CDE with MS SQL server geometry data type

Hello All,

I am using sql server 2013 with data type as geometry (map stored in binary data). I am trying display this geometry data type data in cde component so how could I use.

Currently it is showing me error for geometry data type.

Help / Ideas on Parsing an XML Child Node and Adding Parent Node value to the Output

Hi All,

Thanks for looking at the post. I having been racking my brain on how to add the Order ID value to child node rows. I've been reviewing many of the samples provided which has helped me a bunch on other areas. It just seems I can't find a decent solution to this issue.

Background: I am receiving an XML-based Order Status file. The file contains a "shipmentpackagesitems" node that is nested within the "order" node. My idea was to loop through the shipmentpackagesitems, add the Order ID to each row output and then use the Order ID and Item ID as unique identifiers to update my Order_Items Table with the tracking numbers. I'm stuck on how I can add the Order Id.


Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi !

someone knows what's the way to insert multiple parameters inside a SQL query ?
that's my query working with just one parameter:
select dateid,camionero,residente,noresidente
from dbo.quien_es_cliente_tipo_table
WHERE linea in (${ch_canariasParameter})
group by dateid,camionero,noresidente,residente

but I would need something like that:

select dateid,camionero,residente,noresidente
from dbo.quien_es_cliente_tipo_table
WHERE linea in (${ch_canariasParameter}, ${ch_balearesParameter}, ${ch_surParameter})
group by dateid,camionero,noresidente,residente

Formatting message-field in Group Header

Hi.

I have a little doubt: I created a OpenFormula to calculate the percentage of a profit, and am using a message-field to display the formatted value and the symbol "%" as 10.0%.
So I did the message-field like this: $(FormulaProfit, number, #,##0.00)%.

Problem: If I put that message-field in the group header or header details, an error occurs when generating the report: "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot format given Object as a Number"
Is there any way to show this message-field in the format #, ##?

Enterprise BI Platform: Adding addition prompt (or parameter)

New to the Ent. BI platform. I was given a link https://subdom.maindomain.com/pentaho/Home
There, I log in as admin.

There is a dashboard now that the user can select a date field (day logged) prompt and all relevant objects will be populated. How does one then change the behavior of this prompt so that user can constraint between 2 dates -- e.g. start date , and end date?

Here I've simply added another prompt but it only takes the first prompt and parse to the reports. Can anyone help?

error when using the mail in transformation

Hey guys!

I'm starting this universe and I have a little problem.

I'm using "get variable" and seting the field "porta" as "integer", but when I set this variable in the "port" of step mail the following error occurs:

Setting repeated values to empty string

Hi all!

I have a csv file that looks like this:

Record_Num Name Email Email_Type
1 Pat pat@a.com home
1 Pat pat@b.com work



Now, what I need to do is to set to empty string certain fieds that are repeated (in this case name). As long as the Record_Num is the same, I don't want the name to repeat. So the file looks like this


Record_Num Name Email Email_Type
1 Pat pat@a.com home
1 pat@b.com work


Not sure if this can be done inside of a Modified JavaScript Value step.

Any pointers are highly appreciated.

Error when using "mail" in the transformation

Hello! :cool:

I'm new in this universe and I'm having trouble using email processing, have a "get variable" with this variable "integer" and then in step "set variable" put as 587 the value of the variable

Delete attachment - Get mails (POP3/IMAP

Hi


I use Kettle 5.2. I use “Get mails (POP3/IMAP)” and successfully connect to the email account both with IMAP settings. If you download an attachment and the attachment has the same name with an already downloaded file Kettle creates the new attachment with a different name. Can somehow change this behavior? For example overwrite the file?

PDI - Metadata Injection - Do we have to specify all metadata?

I want to use Metadata Injection to inject some information into Excel Input step.
Right now I'm injecting everything that can be injected (fields config, sheets config, file names lines config). If I omit any field I get an error:

i have two outputs from the transformations:

one output :

second output from the transformation:

1 totally different codes other than the zipcode

questions: 1 may I change the columns to the second output to something below

2. May i do a SAS similar merge or the generic merge by using common key and output something as below:

kettle cant auto detect date input in format dd/mm/yy. CSV INPUT step

I have a csv file with some rows with this format of date '30/06/14' and when I push 'get fields' in csv input step, it returns date mask 'yyyy/mm/dd' with a result of the previw files as 0030/06/14

Is there any configuration file where i can change the priority of autodetected dates?

I don't want to change the date manually through select values.

It is strange that the result of get fields returned this:

trouble loading a tab separated file

Hi,


I am having trouble loading a tab separated file but I am new to Pentaho so was hoping sombody could correct my ways.


The files are delimited by tab and text fields enclosed in quotes. I have tried both 'CSV file input'
and 'text file input'.
I have tried several ways to specify the delimiter eg pasting in a tab, pressing the 'Insert TAB' button
the result is the same. the 'Get fields' just finds one string.
The scan results shows 'maximum value' as the content of the 1st column.
A preview,obviously, just reads the one column. So its kind of detecting the column but seeing the next one


Do I need to hold my mouth a funny way or something?

Overlapping Bar Charts in CDE

Hi All,


Can anyone please let me know how to achieve overlapping bar charts in pentaho CDE. We have item-margin available in pentaho report designer to achieve the overlapping but didn't see anything.Tried using item_margin as extension type in cde but didnt find any luck. Can some one please help me with this. Any help is highly appreciated.

Market Basket Analysis?

I am trying to create a Mondrian cube which can handle market basket analysis cross-tabs. For example, we need to place a product on the rows of a cross-tab and a product on the columns of the cross-tab. The measure will then count all customers who have bought both products. In other tools I would create the following join:

Orders1.CustomerID = Orders2.CustomerID
Orders1.ProductID <> Orders2.ProductID

I created a view in the database to do this type of join and it works well with small amounts of data. The problem is, we have 150 million rows to add and this type of join, in the database, creates more than a trillion records because the view is being pulled before filtering.

Is there some way in Pentaho Mondrian to do this type of join in the tool so filtering happens? I want to avoid having the join happen via a view in the database.
