Hello friends,

New to Pentaho here. I have Pentaho BI Server installed. I have developed some slick reports, and I have a legacy Java app that lets a user add data to a database table to include in the reports.

Problem is - I want to authenticate the user through Pentaho and add a link to use this data upload facility, or use Pentaho on the web to allow the user to upload data to this table.

Any views on how this should be best accomplished?

Hi all,
I have followed this tutorial in order to install pentaho: http://pentaho-bi-suite.blogspot.ca/...1-ce-with.html
When i launch my start-pentaho.bat and go to http://localhost:8080/pentaho/ I get a 404 ...

Hey Everyone,

I've been working over the past few days to get transformations setup to move data from our Postgres server to Redshift using a free tier S3 bucket as an intermediary and PDI 4.4 for the transfer. Currently I am using a table input to pull from Postgres and an S3 file output step to get a file that I can then use in a copy statement in an execute sql statement step to pull the data into Redshift. Everything has been working as expected until I started working with some of the bigger tables. I cannot output a file to S3 bigger than 128MB. If I limit the rows in the input it will work until I hit a number that results in 128MB in the output on S3 at which point the transformation errors out and fails. error log is below. Anyone run across any issues like this before?

Apologies if this is a basic question, but I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere. Is the search method weka.attributeSelection.BestFirst equivalent to sequential floating forward selection (assuming a forward search direction, of course)? Thanks in advance!

Hi!

The Sample Product Sales Line Pie Chart that is generated using Pentaho Report 5.3, will display "invalid parameter/function" upon click any segment of the Pie chart.

I think it has todo with the new URL parameter passing in version 5.3

Appreciate any assistance to resolve this.

Hallo members,
I earlier created a a report with PRD 3.9 and later opened with prd 5.3. tried opening it again with 3.9 but just cant open. i really need to save it with version 3.9 so as to upload it to mifos. Am stuck yet it is a big report and don't want to start again from scratch.

Hello,

I'm new in pentaho and we're evaluating many ETL-products for our data migration.

I've the following problem at the moment by using the application Spoon in Pentaho DI Enterprise Edition:

I try to establish a connection to our database. It's an Oralce Database and the connection has a service name and not a SID. The connection URL has the following form:

jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host>:1526/<service-name>

The port number is 1526.

When I enter these informations in the Database-Connection dialog (or in the connection wizard) (Connection-Type: 'Generic Database', Acess: 'Native JDBC', Custom Driver Class: 'oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver', the connection url, username and password) and click to buttom 'Test', I become an error (see below).

And when I open the transformation file in a text editor, I see following connection definition:

Hi, I have dashboards that I made with CDE Dashboard in version 4.8 and I want to move it to version 5.0.1 without doing them all again from scratch.
I have the cdfde, wcdf and cda files in my pentaho-solutions folder from my version 4.8 but I am not sure how to import them to the version 5.0.1
Also in version 4.8 I could create a database connection in the administration console but in version 5.0.1 all i can find is "add datasource" and then it asks me to create all the JOINs else it doesn't work.
What i tried to do is : in Home -> Browse Files -> Upload and i upload the cdfde and the wcdf files in the admin folder but when i click on the wcdf file i get one of these : Could not load dashboard: exception while getting data for file with id "6d2fb951-be41-46aa-8b8f-8b69896ceded" Reference number: b099f69d-b30b-418d-b0a3-6ea85abf88c0.
I also tried and upload a report (.prpt that I do with report designer) but i get a parsing information error. No wonder since I cannot find a database connection like in my good old admin console from version 4.8.
As for my .saiku analytical reports, when i try and upload them, it gives me a message saying: "Upload unsuccessful We really did try but that file type is not supported"
When i had to move my dashboards, reports and saiku analytical reports from one machine to another in pentaho 4.8, copy pasting the pentaho-solutions folder was quite effective but migrating to 5.0.1 is all another story since jackrabbit comes into place and the admin console has completely changed.
If anyone could help, contribute or give some heads up, that would be greatly appreciated !

After a long hiatus, I am again working with Pentaho.

I just installed the data integration module for CE 5.2 on a Macbook pro with OS X. The installation went successfully but when I run `start-pentaho.sh`, the UI never comes up.

JDK 8.0 was installed by our sysadmin on this machine but it seems that it is not being detected. When I run it from the command line, this is the output I get

Hi everybody:
I have been trying unsuccessfully to create a CDA file with an Inner join. It seems that always FULL OUTER JOIN is done. I tried using a PDI/Kettle transformation and it works, but I need a database connection (jdbc or jndi) and works only at PDI/Kettle. My CDA file works perfectly, but displays all rows. I was looking for previous posts but not results found. Can you recommend me something?

Hi. I have installed BIServer-CE version 5.3.0.0.213 and the latest versions of CTools (CDF, CDA, CDE, CGG - versions 15.02.26 STABLE) using Linux Mint 17.1 (Rebecca). Browser is Firefox 36.0.1

I have an error message when starting SPARKL as follows:

"Error processing component (pluginsList)"

The sort ordering function shows the following error message:

"Error processing component (sortSelector)"

I have uninstalled and re-installed all the plugins with no difference in the result.

Log files show nothing that seem to indicate SPARKL errors.


This looks similar to the jira case CDF-473 though no browser error message is produced.


Any ideas? Or should I just open a jira case?

I have a rather weird problem with the revision value in the PRO_SUBSCRIBE table being much higher than necessary. Can someone elaborate on how this value is entered into this field?

I have a HTTP Post step which is working fine but one of the post parameters is a password and I cannot seem to find a way to use a transformation parameter or other "variable" that I can pass into the transform at runtime to be used as the "Password" for the operation.

Again this is not part of the http authentication but one of the "fields" on the http post.

Hi,

I am using Pentaho BA server 5.3 .

How to change the x axis (base axis) label font in the CDE charts.

I have tried the following in the extension point section:

xAxisLabel_font:"12px sans-serif" / baseAxisFont: "12px sans-serif" / baseAxisLabelFont: "12px sans-serif" .

Can someone help me out.
