Sample Use cases to study !! Need your help, please.

Hello All,

Thanks in advance for your support.

I need to work on a POC where data has to be migrated from 30 to 70 tables in oracle.

Just want to know if you could tell me any sample use cases available on the web. I am just a beginner in this way of using PDI (Initially I was working on Files).

or give me some guidelines (Books, artciles, references,) that I need to follow to work on this model

I am a java developer but not from data ware house background.

Business Analytics and DI on Docker?

We've recently purchased pentaho's enterprise edition and will be installing business analytics and data integration into our environment. We are very interested in building this environment using docker containers and the methodologies that comes with it.

I just noticed that pentahoworld has a session by Michael D'Amour on building pentaho in a docker environment. Is there an official docker image to run pentaho business analytics and DI? Or even if there's not an official one can I get a dockerfile? I have seen wmarinho's docker image of pentaho but that's the community edition and I need to build the enterprise edition.

Hi,


I'm working with Pentaho ce BI Server 5.4 and enable auditing functionality . In addition , download the plugin Pentaho CE audit to analyze the audit. But I pentaho not generate audit, both Saiku Analytics ce or when a saved view opens . I understand that should be added to the object of autidoria Saiku for Pentaho . But I can not do it.

Mondrian cache security issue

Hi all,


I'm having a problem with an analyzer view. The view shows a lists of offices (shared dimension) and a Measure.


I have roles seted to restringe acces by office but if modify the view with an admin user (can see all the offices) and then run the same view with a restricted user, he can see all offices until I clear Mondrian cache or until the user modifies the view.


We are using pentaho 5.1, is there a bug or could it be some problem of configuration?

Unattended install of biserver-manual-ee-5.4.0.1

I'm trying to install Bi Server (business analytics) via a script. I chose the biserver-manual-ee-5.4.0.1 download. How can i run the install with command line options or switches so that I don't have to interactively answer questions? Is there a way to do that with this java file or do I have to work around it? :confused:

How Would I Find Diverse Attributes For Unlabeled Data?

Hi Mark,

The attribute data would be numeric and since I dont know the correct answer it would be unlabeled. What I want to do is use the Wisdom of The Crowds idea:

When I would know the most diverse attribute members they would get averaged together to approximate the correct(presumably according to WOC) answer.

I am a beginner of pentaho. I am looking for a way to categorize the reports according to several criteria:


- Type of product
- Date of publication
- the place


I would also like the users can search these reports following these criteria in the dashboard.

Web Service Lookup error

Hi,

i need your help.

I am using the Web Service Lookup step in my transformation.

The web service runs fine in my browser, but in my transformation i'm getting this error:

2015/08/31 09:44:23 - Web Services Lookup.0 - Internal server error while calling the web service. Service URL=http://localhost/myapp/services/Service.asmx, Response code = 400.
Response body:

What is missing? How to fix or get around this problem?

Mdx query too slow for few no. of records

We are using mondrian olap server and mdx query for our BI application. But in the profiler(yourkit), we see the application fires multiple sql queries which are group by the description column to show the report, though we have specified the primary key and foreign key columns references in the cube (xml file). We want to change this group by clause to id column. We are not able to do so.

Also it took around 8-10 mins to run. Its too slow to work.

This is my query

select NON EMPTY {[Measures].[Revenue]} ON COLUMNS,
NON EMPTY ({([Stream].[All Stream],[Portfolio].[All Portfolio],[Serviceline].[All Serviceline], [Year].[All Year], [Month].[All Month],
[Department].[All Department])}) ON ROWS
from [RevenueBudget] where ([Time].[201303] : [Time].[201508])

In the Db there are only 5,000 records.

Issue In connecting Mongodb 3.0.3 with Pentaho BI-server ce 4.8.0 PUC for ad-hoc

In my case,
I want to do ad-hoc reporting in Pentaho User console considering mongodb as a data source
For resolving this issue, I already tried report designer but this is not my requirement,
I have also tried putting mongodb driver in Administraton console and Penaho bi-server
Tomcat "lib" folder but still issue persists.
So Please help me in resolving this issue.

I just want to know whether mongodb 3.0.3 is compatible for adhoc reporting in pentaho and if this version is not compatible then please tell the correct version for this requirement.

Hi, i'm trying to create a log which registered the wrong accesses to bi-server, this log should store the of the user who tried to log into the server and the date of this access.

Hi,

I am using PDI-CE-5.3 edition, in spoon.bat file i am trying to modify heap size but i find out two java option values. Could you please guide me what exactly is PENTAHO_DI_JAVA_OPTIONS and XX:MaxPermSize ?. i tried in google web but no luck.

Unable to create Transformation/Jobs in Repository

I am using PostGreSQL as database. I am trying to create a new repository. I am able to connect to my repository but when i am trying to create new transformations/jobs. I am getting following error. Can you please help.

Hi ,
I m very new here.
From my database I fetch my date and try to write each event in each google sheet . So I need to separate week and event .
I have problem with data in google analytic. My data look like this.

Week EventCategory Total event
1 links 100
1 header 300
1 footer 700
2 links 600
2 header 700
2 footer 800
3 links 200
3 header 300
3 footer 5000
4 links 200
4 header 1000
4 footer 400


How can I make a transformation that return data like this ?
