Problems when publishing cube, it is published but it is not displayed.

Hi.

I have a cube published in a B.D. Oracle, that works for me.

Another Oracle Database server has been mounted. In the Workbench scheme, the new connection is taken into account, and the Oracle schema also changes.

The tables have been copied to the new B.D.


In the Workbench scheme it does not give any errors, it publishes correctly, but when in the BI console, I create a new saiku, it does not visualize the cube.

The connection is correct in both Workbench and BI, since the test gives me ok.

In the catalina logs or I see nothing, that tells me not to like the cube.

How can I find out where the problem is?

Run this transformation in a clustered mode?

Hi

In PDI 8, where do I find the "Run this transformation in a clustered mode?" option?

In PDI 6, the option is in the advanced tab of the transformation job entry, but in PDI 8 is not. I need this option to execute clustered transformations via job and command line.

Is a bug? Or is there another way to execute a clustered ETL on PDI 8?

Pentaho connection to Oracle CRM On Demand

Good morning to everybody!

I'm trying to extract data from Oracle CRM On Demand, but with no luck.

I think I should use the HTTP Post component, but I'm not sure.

The only thing I know is that Oracle CRMoD can be queried using WebServices.

Does anybody managed to connect to it ?

Get value from pdi transformation

Hi,
** Newbie Alert ***
Apologies if this has been asked before - I did search but could not find anything obviously related.

I am in process of making a wide range of kettle PDI transformations, many of which are joined together as jobs too.

I'm now beginning to think about how I will create reports using this data and so trying to learn about the Report Designer and so far so good, but I am now a little stuck with two points:


  1. It's easy to add the transformation as a data source then add a text-field and link that to the field name in the transformation and that 'pulls in' a list of values. In many cases thats just great, but what about if I only want to use a certain value in that list? Is there any way to lock the value in the text-field to a single value in that list of values of that field name?
  2. What if I need to run a whole 'job' to get the transformation to run in order to get the correct value? Would it be better to create a transformation which includes all the pre-work being done earlier in the job?


As you can tell, I'm a real newbie and will very much appreciate any assistance or links to training/books or videos which might help me figure all this stuff out. The Pentaho suite seems to be be crazy powerful, but not that intuitive to learn!

Is there a way to pass variable using Email step?

Or is there a way for email receive variables??

I'm thinking about doing comparison of two amount fields from two different input files.

I might do Comparison in Fx formula step..

If the amounts are not equal, I would like to display those values in email and send out the email.

Please advise.

Get sum as a single value

Hi

Newbie with Pentaho Reporting and looking for some advice with what I am sure is a very simple question.

In my report I am pulling in data from a pdi transformation, its just a list of prices. There are 26 items in the list and each has a price value which is of type [double]. All I want to do is have a single field which contains the sum total for all the values. I am able to add a numeric-field, point it to the data source and then, using the aggregation-type select SUM; which I thought would do the trick. It works but I get a value for every item in the list. In my case I get a list of 26 instances of 237 (which IS the total).

Q - How to get a single value of 237 not an instance of the value for every item in the list?

I must be missing something very simple, I'm sure.

Sending XML job to Carte

Hi,

I am following the documentation supplied here to try and send the Job XML to Carte. I am calling the registerJob endpoint but the documentation describes the body as a job_configuration, which is a job_execution_configuration and the job wrapped in the job_configuration node. I can't find any documentation anywhere as how to generate this xml. Can someone please tell the steps in doing this or point me in the right direction.

Pentaho-server 7.1 CE Scheduler logs

I have strange problem with pentaho-server schedules:






I have several tens of schedules running daily generating different files and sending them via mail. However, some of them do not run properly, or better say, do not run at all every now and then. It is not often however, from all schedules I have, there is like one in month or 2 months that does not run, but its starting to be annoying with increades numbers of schedules.

For example, there is schedule executing *.prpt report and sending its resut via mail. It is set to run daily, running since 1. January 2018. But no mail was received on 2.April.2018 and 9.April.2018. However all other days before and after those 2 exceptions, since 1. January 2018, schedule was executed and mail delivered.

I was trying to get some clues why is that, however I am not able to find any logs regarding executing schedules in pentaho-server. Checked all log files in pentaho-server/tomcat/logs but wasn't able to find any clue. Also was looking for location of other logs, but couldn't find anything.

Can someone please give me hint where to look for such logs. Or should I first enable them, or configure somewhere?

Problems running Jobs using Kitchen

Hello,

I've built the job using Spoon, and it's working fine. But when I run using the Kitchen.bat command, it seems that it will run fine, but it stops after printing the following lines:

  • Deleting the karaf cache
  • I even downloaded the pdi-ce-8.0.0.0-28.zip again and retried.


I'm out of ideas.

Possible to upgrade Janino to support newer java versions?

For my Kettle version, it seems the included janino version only supports java 1.4 syntax.

Is it possible to upgrade the janino version to support wider/newer java language?

According to this link I get the impression janino has been developed to support more than I have available in User Defined Java Step at the moment:

I was able to just replace the "janino-2.5.16.jar" with "janino-3.0.8.jar". I also added an additional dependency for the new janino version "commons-compiler-3.0.8.jar".

However, the text validation now gives an exception:

converting to timestamp

I have an input file with a date in a format that looks like this

2018-04-18-15.30.16


I need to pass that data in Transformation and convert it to Timestamp before inserting that data into Table Output.
As you can see, that format doesn't t match the Timestamp datatype. What is the best way to convert? Use Select Value step or
in Table Output step (there is a Sql button there.. is that when it comes to play?) Please advise.

Problem with TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE

I need to copy a table from PostgreSQL to Oracle.
The source table contains a field with TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE as type.

In Oracle too I have set TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE as type for this attribute.

The problem is that when I copy the data from the source table, the destination table contains the timestamp converted into my local time zone. For example:

SOURCE DESTINATION
2017-11-04 07:18:33+04 2017-11-04 07:18:33+01

Instead, I want to have the same time zone in the source and in the destination table.

I've also tried using a select values step between source and destination, setting the source time zone as "Date Time Zone", but this didn't worked.

Any idea?

Call endpoint Step - Problem with PUT method

Hi for all.
I've been stucked with a same problem some days.
I need to publish a dinamical mondrian schema automatically and I can't publish the .xml on the server. I've tried with a call endpoint Step which exposes the API methods clearly but the PUT method doesn`t work for me,
the server always return 415 code and I couldn`t find what is the problem. Parameters? URL of the resource?
I tested the credentials on the server and there are ok.
I 'd really appreciate your help with some examples.
I couldn't attach images or files, I think for my privileges. Sorry!

Line chart with min max and last dots

I have a simple line chart with one line, but I need to add a dot and value to the min and max points as well as the last point.

'Abort on Error' or 'Error Handling' options not working in Vertica bulk loader

I want to load a file into Vertica table. For doing so, I'm using Vertica Bulk Loader. I don't want data load to stop on errors, I want to log the rejects and exceptions in case any to respective files and load the good records. However I'm unable to get the results as expected, process stops on Error. I tried enabling the 'Error handling' option also, however that also not working. I'm using Pentaho v8.0

kettleTransFromFile and JDBC

Hello,
I have a Oracle Database and I'm trying to use the kettleTransFromFile DataSource to call a PDI Transformation from my CDE Dashboard.

When I execute this datasource, I receive the following error:

Database lookup.0 - Error connecting to database: (using class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver)
Database lookup.0 - Erro de ES: NL Exception was generated

I thought I had a problem with my connection, so I've created a DataSource inside Pentaho with the same parameters from the Transformation Connection and created a SQL Datasource in my CDE Dashboard.

Everything worked fine, so I can see that I don't have a problem in my connection.

Maybe someone could give me any idea about this situation? I'm not sure but I think the problem is in JDBC Driver, the kettleTransFromFile datasource also uses the JDBC drivers located in: tomcat/lib ?

Generating large number of different reports by script

On my Pentaho CE 7.1 I often need to generate large number of reports (*.prpt) with different attributes.
For example, I have a report that shows data for a day, and I need to generate those reports for each day since September 2017.
Is there any way how create a script, that would execute those *.prpt files one by one for each day since September 2017 until now?
I have been checking API on official Pentaho documentation, but it does not seem to be such option there. Perhaps some kind of hack, like sending parameters in URL or so?

Hello community!
I hope someone can help me with a RegEx.

Here is a sample of the text I am searching (log text):
39874 INFO ResourceManagerClientImpl - Created application master with application ID application_1523560182066_0293 AAfasdfiof

I want to pull the application id out of this text. In the above example, this would give "application_1523560182066_0293".

Here is the regex I am trying to use:
^.+(application_\d+_\d+).+

It compiles fine, but does not find a match.
I think I'm fairly close, but cannot get it to work.
Can someone help?

Microsoft Excel Writer

I'd like to use Microsoft Excel Writer as output in PDI 8.0. Is there a way to customize the Spreadsheet so that data can be written to specified row? As of now, I have all the data written on first row (A1, B1, C1, D1. etc). What do I need to do if I want selected Fields Name written to a specified row? For example, Fields Name #1 and #2 on first row, Fields Name #3 and #4 on second row, Fields Name #5 and #6 on third row. Is this doable?

DI Salesforce intergration stopped working today - really need help

I realize there are a lot of forums out there, I have read as many of them today as I could. Can't get a grip on what my problem is though.

I am using DI 6.0.1.0-386 I know it;s old, but upgradign seems harder than fixing my salesforce issue
